WebApr 1, 2024 · Abstract. The objective of the present project is to analyze the flow patterns resulting from isothermal ice slurries flowing in a straight horizontal pipe using combined … WebJan 15, 2009 · The heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of forced convection flow of slurry ice that contains ice particles with 0.5--1 mm diameter was experimentally presented in this paper. The heat transfer coefficients agreed with Dittus-Boelter's equation. The pressure drop agreed with Blasius' equation at high velocity and low IPF of slurry ice.

WebFeb 4, 2009 · The authors have observed flow patterns of ice/water slurry flow through horizontal circular pipes, and measured pressure loss for small diameter pipes, using three classes of ice particles. The slurry flows are classified into three patterns, i.e. dispersed-particle flow, cluster flow and column flow, and they are presented on a plane of two … WebErosion in slurry pumps occurs due to two mechanisms, viz., particle impact and sliding (scouring) action [5,6,7]. In dilute slurries, erosion is likely to be more due to particle impact [8]. Dilute slurry flow in slurry transportation is of significance in handling sewage, silted waters and certain dredging and mining applications.
